Ginsberg photos at the Crocker

Tonight, we just got back from the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA. This month they are featuring 2 very good exhibits: "Allen Ginsberg: Beat Generation Photographer" and "Dark Metropolis: Irving Norman's Social Surrealism." Both are outstanding. The above pics are photos that I took of the actual Ginsberg photos. Showing are the most famous images from the Beat period which include Ginsberg, Kerouac, Burroughs, Neal Cassidy, Ferlinghetti, Corso, Herbert Hunche, Peter Orlovsky, Robert Creeley, Robert Frank and many more. It is pretty cool to see these photos all together with many of them having Ginsberg's scribblings about what is in each photo underneath (as you can barely see in the ones above).
Irving Norman's paintings are unbelievable. If you look at them long enough it makes you feel like you have just taken a 3 pound shit and are ready to run a mile in 5 minutes flat. Yes, they are that good. Check out the Crocker's website at: http://www.crockerartmuseum.org/
